Travis Lallemand became the head coach of the Roughrider baseball program in the summer of 2005. As head coach, he has led the Roughriders to seven Region 16 Championships, in 2008, 2010, 2014, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022, respectively. In his time as head coach the Roughriders have also had success winning 3 South Central District Championships and earning them three trips to the JUCO World Series. Lallemand has been named the Region 16 Coach of the Year 6 times, in 2008, 2010, 2014, 2017, 2019 and again in 2021, along with being named the South-Central District Coach of the Year in 2010, 2017, & 2021. Since 2010, the Roughriders have appeared in the NJCAA National poll each year and have won forty plus games 10 of those seasons including two 50 plus win seasons.
Also, during his time as the head coach at Crowder the Roughriders have produced 48 Region 16 1st Collaborators, 11 NJCAA All Americans, 5 Region Players of the Year and 4 Region 16 Defensive Players of the year. Players that have played for Lallemand have had opportunities to transfer to a variety of 4-year institutions throughout the country. Lallemand has coached one hundred players in his time at Crowder that have signed with Division 1 programs and 35 players have been drafted by Major League clubs. The Roughrider’s pitching staff has had 26 pitchers that have been selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft and 50 that have signed with NCAA Division 1 schools in his years at Crowder. Altogether, over 200 Roughriders moved on to 4-year schools or professional baseball to continue their playing careers in the last 16 years. Lallemand started as assistant coach for the program and guided the Roughrider pitching staff for 3 seasons prior to becoming head coach.
Coach Lallemand came to Crowder from Parsons, Kansas, where he was an assistant baseball coach for two years at Labette Community College. Lallemand is originally from Girard, Kansas and prepped at Girard High School before going on to play collegiate baseball at Labette Community College and later transferred to Berry College in Rome, GA.
Lallemand is married to the former Jennifer Gardner of Waterloo, Illinois who serves as the athletic trainer at Crowder and they live in Neosho with their 7-year-old son Luc Robert.
