Region 16 Statement on Intentional Forfeiture 2/19/2015
As a Region, it is agreed upon by the athletic directors and coaches that a team shall not intentionally forfeit a game in the regular season to effect seeding for the post-season region tournament in a respective sport. This is an unsportsmanlike act to gain a competitive advantage to change the seeding of a tournament. Teams in Region 16 accused of this action will be reprimanded by the Region 16 Men’s or Women’s Director, a letter sent to the college president and the team removed from the post-season for such action.
